【摘要】:Thispracticeacceleratesthenaturalagingofpressure-sensitivetapessothattheresponsetotheusualphysicalpropertytestschangestothesameextentaswithanexposuretoapproximatelytwoyearsofnaturalagingwhencomparedwiththeresponsetotestsbeforeaging.5.1.1Naturalaginginthiscontextmeansacontinuousperiodofagingoftapeinaclosedfibreboardcontainer(indarkness)inthevariableclimateofeitherthewarmmoistsouth,thewarmdrysouthwestorthemoderatemidcontinent,USA.Theextentofchangeforonephysicalpropertyshouldbeexpectedtobedifferentthanforanotherpropertyandsowouldalsorelatetodifferentnaturalagingtime.Anabnormalproductlotmaycausedifferencesintestingresponsethatthrowofftheexpectedtimepatterns.Appearanceofnormaltapeproductwillusuallychangeonlyslightlyontwoyearsnaturalaging.Thisacceleratedexposureusuallyproducesanexaggeratedchangeinappearancewhichwouldbeseenundernaturalconditionsonlyinabnormalproduct.Thereisnopresentexperiencetorelatethisacceleratedexposuretoresponsesoftapeinapplicationswherethetapeisunderausestress.1.1Thispracticeprovidesoneenvironmentinwhichtoexposefinishedpressure-sensitivetapematerialforthepurposeofacceleratingtheagingofit.Itisapplicabletotapeinrollformwhentheuserobservestheprecautionsdetailedwithintheprocedure.Thepracticedoesnotprovideforaconclusionwithinitself,butisforuseinconjunctionwithappearanceorphysicalpropertyteststofollowtheacceleratedexposure.Whilethispracticewasdevelopedusingpackagingtypetapes,itsuseonothertypesoftapewithsimilarconstructionisencouraged.Itisnotintendedforuseonelectricalgradetapes(seeTestMethodsD1000).Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
