【摘要】:ThisPartofBS476specifiesamethodoftestformeasuringthelateralspreadofflamealongthesurfaceofaspecimenofaproductorientatedintheverticalpositionunderopposedflowconditions,andaclassificationsystembasedontherateandextentofthespreadofflame.Itprovidesdatasuitableforcomparingtheend-useperformancesofessentiallyflatmaterials,compositesorassemblies,whichareusedprimarilyastheexposedsurfacesofwallsorceilings.AnnexAgivesguidancetooperatorscarryingoutthismethodoftest.AnnexBdiscussestheeffectofthermalcharacteristicsontheperformanceofassembliesandgivesadviceontheconstructionandpreparationoftestspecimens.AnnexCgivesinformationonthevalidationofthismethod.NOTE.Thetestresultsrelateonlytothebehaviourofthetestspecimensoftheproductundertheparticularconditionsoftest;theyarenotintendedtobethesolecriterionforassessingthepotentialfirehazardoftheproductinuse.
